New Years Resolution: Save More Money – How to stick to it

The New Year is upon us and as you begin to settle upon your resolutions for the new year, we want to propose one for your list:

Saving money.

The New Year is the perfect time to start over, start fresh, and develop good habits that you can stick to. One very important habit to follow is creating a budget that will allow you to save some of that hard earned cash.

One easy to way to curb your spending habits is to set spending limits for everything that you need to purchase regularly, and set a flex component that will give you a little extra money for an emergency. This means budgeting out food, bills, clothing, etc. This way you know exactly how much you are going to have to spend monthly, and how much you can save.

There are other ways to save money whether you’re making a one time purchase like a car, or buying something regularly like groceries. If you’re making a big purchase like a car, don’t go straight to the dealership. Look around online with sites like Craigslist and eBay. And with us at Cars Transport, you don’t have to worry about shipping costing you just as much as that new car you bought. That’s because we pride ourselves on low shipping rates, but without having to sacrifice quality and peace of mind.

Other ways to save money come from shopping sales–there’s always a New Year’s one. You could also try buying generic brands at the grocery store, or saving all those coupons and actually using them.

Other simple solutions that will help you save money come the New Year: try things like unplugging electronics when you’re not using them. Turn off lights in rooms that you’re not in. You can also minimize your heating bill by taking quicker showers to use less hot water.

If you employ these money saving tactics at the start of the new year and remain vigilant in keeping up with them, as well as following your budget, you’ll notice that that your flex budget may grow larger and larger. And may be able to afford that new car and have it shipped to you faster than you think!
